Dr. Timothy Z Victorella holds a doctorate in health professions education and a master Level Degree in Social Work. Dr. Victorella’s career extends back to his early years in Emergency Response out in the field within the community. He has worked in Emergency Medicine in Level One Trauma Facilities, Community Crisis Teams, State Mental Health Hospitals, and Psychiatric Stabilization Units and is currently involved in working for Veterans Administration.

This website is home to the De-Escalation Lab. The goals of this lab is to create a space to collaborate, train, and develop skills to enhance the skill of first responders during a crisis situation.
Training/ Workshops/ Speaking:
Dr. Victorella provides trainings and workshops in crisis de-escalation and conflict resolution. This curriculum is open to individuals in the community, businesses, nonprofit organizations, mental health/substance use facilities, state agencies, and leadership both locally and nationally. The goal is to assist with building a foundation of how to recognize a crisis situation and learn to help get the crisis to a safe resolution. By using a team based approach and interactive material, confidence is built to facilitate a plan to help understand a tackle crisis.

- Study the Crisis Escalation Grid
- Understand the Threat Triangle
- Develop formulas to calm crisis situations with confidence
- Put into practice the Crisis Rebound plan
- Defining self-care and avoiding vicarious trauma

Consultation:
Sometimes crisis training and workshops are just not enough and more of a one on one approach is needed. Dr. Victorella can provide your organization and employees with crisis and conflict resolution consultation. Services include assistance in developing trainings, updating/re-vamping policies and procedures, and completing in-depth risk assessment of your facility. Dr. Victorella can provide these services and help in supporting your organization in growing and working from a strength-based mindset.
